The Oscars Awards this year were as colourful as always and for some people like Oprah Winfrey this was the best ever (oprah winfrey show. There were appeareances from a host of hollywood celebrities, I was personally impressed by actor Hugh jackman did a great job of wooing the crowd with his great sense of humour at the last part of his opening act he singled out Anne hathaway and they performed a made up song from the Movie Frost/Nixon. he went on and performed a reindition of lady mamalade with Beyonce, Zach Efron andd many others.The best part for me however wass when the late Heath Ledger won the Oscar for best supporting actor for his role as the psychotic jocker in DARK KNIGHT(http://www.oscars.com/) it touched my heart when his family went foward as a united front to recive his price and reminded me of what a talented man he was.
It also made think of might have happended at the hour preceeding his death, it was reported that he passed away due to an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication in New York on January 22, 2008 at the tender age of 28(http://uk.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUKTRE51M14S20090223) he left behind a fiancee and a three year old daughter who will be the oscar benefactor this is the ruling given by the judge that presisded over the case.I feel happy that at least he has somewhat secured his daughter's futuer even though he wont be physically there to watch her grow.I wonder what happened at that time........i pray for his loved ones and all of us who have lost our loved ones that we may find peace.
